Sorry, I’ve been busy with school lately. I’m trying to get back into regularly publishing chapters, however, starting with this one!
Angie’s carpet landed with a soft thud on a tea lounge. There was an iridescent hummingbird sipping some tea.

“Why, hello dear, and welcome to Sugar Shores. I’m Flitter, and I really hope that carpet isn’t too dusty. I don’t know why, but 5 years ago, the managers suddenly put an appalling amount of tacky, colorful blocks in the lounge! Those managers have absolutely no taste in decoration! Ugh!”
“Flitter, the managers didn’t put that there. The Pet Snatchers invaded the Pet World, and these walls are their doing. However, if you hate these walls, you’re lucky because I came to break them.”
“Hmph. I want to watch you try, because what you just said could merely be an empty promise.”
“I can break the walls, but they are hard to break. It really takes a while.”
A fortnight later, the tea lounge was completely free of walls.
“Mmm,” Flitter remarked. “There’s no trace of those awful walls here. It’s as if nothing happened at all! I simply must give a reward to you! Here, have some good macarons.” Flitter gave Angie a half-dozen box of macarons.
The pink table runner was the only thing that separated the tea lounge from where Angie needed to go, and she suddenly fell while crossing it. She was able to cling to a purple block, but her suitcase had fallen into the blocks below. Luckily, a dog was already standing on the blocks below the table, retrieving her suitcase.
When the dog came back with her suitcase, he introduced himself as Phil.
“Do be careful of the runner.” He said. “Five years ago, this place got flooded with blocks. This is supposed to be the front desk of the Pet Rescue Resort, but you practically can’t tell anymore. You can see the top of this glass shelf here. It’s supposed to contain some decorative sculptures and some of our awards for being a good resort.”

“Well, thank you for rescuing my suitcase, Phil. I’ve got a lot of experience with blocks like these, and I can help you. My name’s Angie, by the way.”
“You know, this sounds almost too good to be true. Are you really sure or are you just bragging?”
“Well, if you don’t believe me, I’ll prove it to you then.”
17 days later, Phil could see that Angie was, indeed, able to clear out the blocks. Now, they were standing in a white-tiled room with a reception desk and two identical glass shelves between them. They were also able to see a gold staircase leading to the tea lounge.
“When the blocks came down, the walls between each room got demolished in the process.”
“Don’t bother with trying to call construction.” Angie explained. “I didn’t see any construction workers on my way here, so if you call, they probably won’t be able to get to you because of the walls.” Angie then scurried over towards the fog covering the next area, which was just beginning to clear up.
Angie entered a deserted playground, with but a single skunk rocking on a shark-shaped spring rider. She noticed that ten of the walls were on a crocodile slide, while the rest were on a hopscotch that looked like a disco floor that even lit up.

“Hello.” The skunk greeted. “My name’s Finn, and I don’t know where my parents are.” Angie understood what he was saying, despite him not being able to pronounce the letter R correctly.
“Don’t worry.” Angie assured. “Did your parents take you here?”
“Yes.”
“Well, then I should be able to find theme somewhere here. Don’t worry, I’ll be able to find your parents.” Angie then set up her sleeping bag in a playground tower next to the shark spring rider.

Angie experienced some annoyances with the walls on the slide because she kept slipping off. However, despite that, she broke down the walls in just 19 days.
“Thank you very much.” Finn’s mother exclaimed while shaking Angie’s hand. “We simply have to express our gratitude.” She started taking out some silver pawns, but Angie said that helping was reward enough.
Angie walked forward, and nearly fell into a hole. Looking down, she realized that there was a large opening in the ground leading to the resort’s basement, where robots were working on some kind of machine. A platform was rising, and upon closer inspection, a robotic bunny with a wind-up key was sitting on it.

“Greetings.” The robotic bunny said in a computerized, monotone voice. “I am RoboBunny 3000. This place was supposed to manufacture bars of soap for the resort, but someone hacked into the manufacturing software, causing it to produce nothing but blocks of an unidentified substance. The hackers also caused the creation of those walls, and my scanner has confirmed that the walls and the unidentified blocks are made from the same substance.”
“We probably will never know what they’re made of, but what’s important is that I can clear them out. I can’t help you set your software back to normal because I was raised in a barn.”
Angie heard one of the smaller robots fiddling with a lever. The resort suddenly went dark.

She heard Phil’s voice coming from the carrot RoboBunny 3000 had been holding, which she discovered was a walkie-talkie.
“Hey, what gives?” Phil’s voice shouted. “You gave this resort a blackout.”
“Sorry, sir.” RoboBunny 3000 spoke into the walkie-talkie. I think we just blew a fuse. We’ll replace it right away!” One of the robots were already opening the fuse box and replacing the fuse. The lights soon came back on.
“I’m just wondering,” Angie asked. “Why is there a hole in the resort? Isn’t it dangerous?”
“Well, this whole thing was supposed to be covered with a glass panel so that guests can see how we manufacture some things here, but when the walls came down, it shattered completely. Since we can’t manufacture glass, we don’t know how to patch it up again yet.”
13 days later, Angie had cleared out the walls, but the conveyor belts were busted because every time she broke a wall, it would expose a gap in the belt. She moved on towards Pinball Park.
“G’day, mate!” A wallaby exclaimed. “Welcome to Pinball Park! I’m Bruce, how may I help ya?”

“Hi there. I’m here to break the walls.”
“Well, yes. I gotta admit that when those things came down, I was like blimey! Where did…you know. Also, this floor is a giant pinball table and it can’t function with the walls there.”
“Alright then…” Angie replied before starting on a wall.
16 days later, the walls were cleared and the giant pinball table that was the floor could fully function again. Bruce even tried playing some pinball for a while to ensure that it worked.
“You little ripper, you actually did it!” Bruce exclaimed, surprised. “I’ll tip my hat off to you, and give it to you as well!” He handed Angie his blue cap.
Angie stood on colored cubes and saw a sloth playing a video game on one of the TVs.

“Hi… there… My… name… is… Blitz… How… may… I… help… you?”
“Oh, I’m Angie and I just want to help break the walls. Love this room’s decoration, by the way.” She pointed to an old TV that had been decorated to make it look like pixels spilling out into the floor.
“Welcome… to… Pixel… Plaza… The… game… room… of… Pet… Rescue… Resort… Rent… board… and… video… games… here…”
12 days later, Pixel Plaza had been cleaned of walls and Blitz was shaking Angie’s hand.
“Thank… you… for… freeing… this… room… of… walls… Have… some… money.” He very unhurriedly took out his wallet and very slowly, counted out 20 pawns and gave it to Angie.
There were but glass sliding doors separating the game room from the boardwalk. When Angie came out, she found out there was a plethora of art supplies.
“Why, good morning! My name’s Leggy!” A flamingo greeted right in Angie’s face. The bird started dancing around while twirling a paintbrush in her wing. “Five years ago, something dreadful happened. An art class was being hosted here, but these colorful walls came down! I definitely will never forget this, because those walls have given me an inspiration, and if I ever have a canvas again, I will certainly paint it!”
“Well, if it pleases you to know, I came here to break these walls. I suggest you prepare to reunite with your students, because I know from experience that pets get trapped in these things.”
“By golly, you’re right! I can see my student Dirk right there!” She exclaimed, pointing to a weasel trapped in one of the walls.
16 days later, Angie was done with the boardwalk. She was now facing a cornucopia of gigantic fruit.

“HOWDY!” A brightly colored frog jumped towards Angie. “I’m Ferdinand, and welcome to Funky Fruit Fields! A resort can’t be a resort without some rooms for the guests to stay in, so that is what this section is for! But don’t touch me, ’cause I’m poisonous!”
“Well, I’m here to demolish some walls.”
“Alright then, I’ll just clean out a room for you.” He then entered a large fake kiwi with a white door on it.
When Ferdinand had finished cleaning the room, Angie had already broken 5 walls. She took her suitcase, rolled it into the room, and settled down.
Looking inside the room, Angie saw that it was kiwi-themed without looking too tacky. The walls were a light shade of green, the bed had a brown furry blanket like kiwi skin, and there were kiwi throw pillows on the bed and sofa. A glance at a nearby kiwi seed-shaped clock told her that it was already 6:42 pm, so she decided to make some dinner. She emptied out the food in her suitcase into the room’s refrigerator, fixed herself a sandwich, and ate it. She then started writing about her day in her journal.
It seemed like forever, but after 15 days, Angie was finally able to cross the path of giant faux fruit slices. Ferdinand prepared two baskets of fruit and gave one to her.
As he was attaching the second basket to a pulley, Angie inquired: “What’s the pulley for?”
“Well, the resort ends here, and straight ahead is a reservation of tribal beavers. To show that we respect their tribe, we gift them fruits every now and then.”
Angie climbed up the rocks on the waterfall falling from the river of the reservation.
