Cloud City was a majestic orange-leafed tree with a castle built upon it. After breaking the first wall, Angie found herself at the castle’s entrance. A sapphire-blue bird stood at the door in front of her.

“Good morning. I am Princess Cerula.”
“Greetings, Your Majesty. My name is Angie, and all I wish for is to break the walls and rescue all pets, especially my parents. I even have a note as evidence that they are missing.”
“Angie, I see in you good intentions. I shall allow you to continue on your journey, for I wish for you to rescue my mother, Queen Livida. A great mage she was, but she was taken at the Pet Unity Conference before I finished my training. Now, I am here with our kingdom’s Crystal of Unity, without all the answers I have about it. This pendant I hold dear has the topaz, Sunset Sanctuary’s Crystal of Unity, orange as the leaves on this tree and the sunsets we have here. There are magical spells I can cast with them, but I cannot cast all my mother knows, and there are still mysteries about this Crystal’s nature that I do not know about yet.”

“All the other rulers have lost their parents as well, except for King P.” Angie replied.
“Fate chose you, I can say that. Do what you have been doing so long. Do it for the pets of this world. Do it for all the rulers who long for their parents. Do it for the wonder that this world may lose if the makers of these walls succeed in their plan. I shall help you for this part, but I will not stray from my tree, for I do not know what might happen if I get caught.”
“Do you think you’ll lose your Crystal of Unity if you get caught?”
“No, for the Crystal will use its powers against one who is unworthy of handling it. That way, if someone steals it, it can come back to its respective ruler. Our enemies cannot destroy the Crystal, nor can they destroy the object that holds the crystal. Only a worthy holder can renounce a Crystal from its current vessel and transfer it to another one. Now, let’s stop talking and actually break some walls.”
While breaking a wall, Angie caught sight of the Bronze dog.
“Princess Cerula, I’ve heard that you gave the Bronze Dog powers, is that correct?”
“Yes indeed. One of the spells I can cast is a spell that allows me to see ghosts and converse with them. When I learned the stories of that dog and his friends, I gave them powers that would allow them to help the next pets to break the walls. I know about you because they report to me, and they always talk about how great of a wall-breaker you are. In a way, I’ve been secretly helping you for so long, I guess.”
15 days later, Angie gave Princess Cerula the flask of treeflower juice (See Chapter 14). The paper trail of Cloud City finally ended, and Angie followed it back to solid ground.
Aurora Plains was a chilly and slightly hilly plain, and when she got there, the aurorae were shining. A white wolf came up to her.

“The aurorae sure are beautiful, right? I’m Lupinae, nice to see you.”
“Yes, they are beautiful indeed. My name’s Angie” Angie replied.
“Welcome to Aurora Plains. It’s the perfect place for astronomy students, pets fascinated with the aurorae and those pets wanting to observe celestial bodies who are looking for a clear sky. That’s the beauty of Sunset Sanctuary. Almost any pet will find their place here, whether you’re an adventurer-type, a relaxation-type, a modern pet, or an old-fashioned pet, pets are almost certain that they’ll find their place there. This is where I found mine. Now, are you trying to find your place here as well?”
“No. I already have a home, but I left it to go on this journey to break the walls.”
“I see. These walls block the sky, and no pet would want to go here, but who could get here anyways with all the walls?”
“Right. Oh well, I’ll just set up camp here. I can choose to stay up all night, but I’d rather not.”
“Do you have a tent?”
“Nope, that’s unnecessary bulk. All I’ve got to sleep on is a sleeping bag.”
“Well, since you’re setting up that thing outside, I can only bet you’ll be gazing at the aurorae until you fall asleep.”
“You’re probably right.” Angie responded as she finished setting up the sleeping bag and started crawling into it.”
Exactly 2 weeks later, the fog was cleared and a futuristic city was revealed. Lupinae gave Angie his goggles before she set off.
Machina Plaza was a city full of parts that seemed to come from giant robots. A capuchin monkey started running towards her.

“Well, good evening. I’m Voltie, and welcome to Machina Plaza. We sell all sorts of machine parts, but this place is all about building massive mechas and pitting ‘em out against each other. Some pets come to build, while others come to watch. It’s really cool, but during a tournament, the walls came down. The mechas were destroyed, and their owners? They were trapped inside the walls themselves. We tried building new mechas to destroy them, but whoever rode them while doing so got trapped as well.”
“Walls? That’s what I came here for! Don’t you worry! Well, I can save the pets, but not the mechas.”
Oh, ok then! The ones you rescue can fix the mechas anyways.”
After 13 days, Voltie thanked Angie for freeing the mecha builders. She was now ready to go to Paper Passage.
Paper Passage was a quaint little room of books. A crow was there, hopping around and reading some books.

“Why, hello there. It’s been a long time since a visitor came, eh? I’m Agatha, and I’m the younger sister of the great poet Lenore.”
“Doesn’t Lenore live in Lost and Foundland?”
“Why, yes, he does. How on earth did you know that?”
“I’ve met him. He’s pretty silent though, so I don’t know much about him, but I know that he writes poetry.”
“Yes, Lenore is really like that, never talking, always thinking. Anyway, I’m an author like him, but I prefer to write in prose. I live near the graveyard because it inspires me so much to write all the chilling horror stories that I write.”
“Oh well, I’ll just go and break these walls.”
16 days later, Angie moved on to the graveyard Agatha was talking about.
When Angie crossed Eerie Estate, a lizard crawled towards her.

“Death… it is quite a scary thing, isn’t it? The ghosts come up every now and then to do unfinished business, and one can never truly banish them, but when they become particularly troublesome, I just blow the whistle in my pocket and our ruler will come and cast a spell to put them back in their graves for a while.” He said in a grim tone.

“I’m just here to break the walls.”
“That’s kind of shameful… those walls prevented the ghosts from doing anything sneaky or annoying to me. Those ghosts couldn’t even phase through it! That sure kept them out of my manor!”
“Look, you may not like this, but this world doesn’t revolve around you. You may not want me to do this, but all the other pets will be glad that this path is cleared.”
“Hrm, I don’t like what you’ll be doing here, but I won’t stop you.”
13 days later, the graveyard had been cleared. The ghosts were free as well, but they did nothing particularly troublesome to either of them. However, Angie was not prepared for what was about to happen next.
Two shovel tips came out of two gravestones and started to dig. Two humans came out, one short and stout, and one lean and lanky.
“Haha! There’s that cat who’s been messing with our block barriers!” The lean one said, cocking a gun.
“We’ve been spying on you for so long! We’ve been looking at you from high above ever since you started foiling our plans!” The fat one chuckled. “Now, it’s time for you to DIE!” He cocked his gun as well.
Those guys look familiar. Angie thought to herself. Oh, I know! Princess Catarina showed me through her crystal ball and told me that those were the ones causing the walls and the pet disappearances! I don’t want to make them madder than they already are, so I shouldn’t say this out loud.
The humans started shooting. Angie and the lizard ducked and started looking for a hiding spot, but that only made the humans look for them. When they tried to hide behind the lizard’s manor, the humans would just go there and continue shooting.
“Quick, blow your whistle! This isn’t for the ghosts, but if we call Princess Cerula now, she can cast a spell against these shooters!” Angie commanded.
The lizard blew his whistle, and before long, Princess Cerula swooped in.
“I’ve seen my mother respond to this whistle, but I don’t remember this being the reason why you’d blow it!”
The humans started shooting at the sky, but Princess Cerula cast a force field around herself before they dealt any damage. She cast a force field over Angie and the lizard as well.
“Angie has told me before the vision Princess Catarina showed her, and I know for certain that you are the ones in the vision! NOW GET OUT OF HERE!” Princess Cerula cast a pair of shockwaves that sent them far, far, away. “Angie, Morris, you’re safe, for now. Angie, be very careful. In case this happens again, here is a whistle, just like the one Morris uses to call my mother when he has a ghost problem. No matter where you are, I will respond to the sound and help you. Continue on your journey, dear Angie. If you think my magic’s impressive, just wait until you cross that stone path to the next world. It’s Mythical Meadow, the source of all magic that has ever existed in the Pet World.”
