The clouds gently lowered Angie onto a grassland, where plants she had never seen before were growing. A triceratops lumbered towards her.

“It’s been a long time since anyone has come here. Care to stay and learn?”
“Uhh…” Angie replied.
“Hm? I guess you’re new here. Anyways, welcome to Memory Lane, a place where we preserve important parts of our history. Young pets often come here in a field trip to learn about history in a fun and interactive way. Welcome to Dino Dynasty. Would you like to hear about the Cretaceous Period?”
“Can you save it for after sundown, please?” Angie pleaded. “There are pets in these walls waiting to be rescued, and I’ve travelled so far to rescue every pet who has been affected by these walls.”
“Pets trapped in walls? Well, that would explain why this place’s been deserted as heck!”
“Well, I’ve seen baby triceratops trapped in the walls a few times. I thought dinosaurs went extinct millions of years ago. I guess you being here explains it.”
“Yes, indeed. The dinosaurs went extinct millions of years ago, but technology is so powerful now that scientists were able to resurrect a triceratops fossil. Since then, they taught me to talk so I could spread our history to future generations.”
“Oh, wow.” Angie said in awe.
“Alright, sparky. I think you should be breaking the walls right about now. We’ll talk more about this tonight.
After a day of breaking walls, Angie found herself with a bunch of students trapped in the middle of a field trip and a few baby triceratops.
“Alright, gather around, everybody.” Greta called out. “Time to teach you little ones what you’ve missed.”
“The Cretaceous Period was about 145 million years ago to 66 million years ago. This period was the last of three periods in the Mesozoic Era: the Triassic, the Jurassic, then the Cenozoic. Back then, the climate was warmer and more humid. Dominant land animals included horned dinos, such as the triceratops and duck-billed dinosaurs, such as the Parasaurolophus. Gigantic marine reptiles, such as plesiosaurs, lived in the seas, and flying reptiles, also known as pterosaurs, dominated the skies. Angiosperms, or flowering plants, became more common as the period progressed. However, this all ended with one of the most catastrophic mass extinctions of all of history in the Pet World.”
“Ooooh.” All the newly-rescued students said.”
“Now go to bed, all of you.” Greta said. “There’ll be more in the coming nights.”
After 16 days, the mist had cleared and a scroll-shaped path lead to a bridge of books, pillars, and more scrolls upon water.
“Alright then, Sparky. Try as we might, we couldn’t fit all of history in one kingdom. Littoral Library contains all the history that didn’t fit, in hopes that we could make an interactive and educational exhibit of it in the future.” Greta said before sending Angie off.
A sea snake wearing a mortarboard poked its head out to talk to Angie.
“Why, hello there! It’s been a long time since anyone’s been here, and the Littoral Library has lost its purpose, which is sharing knowledge to others!”

“If you think you’re alone, then look again. Look at those walls more closely.” Angie replied.
“Oh! There are youngsters trapped in there! Yikes! What should we do?”
“I know how to do this, but you’ve got to be patient.”
“Don’t worry, I will. One can’t just rush what might become a story to tell to future generations. If you can really do what you say you’ll do, it will go down in Pet World history. Go, I have confidence in you.”
15 days later, the bridge of books, scrolls, and records ended on the summit of a cliff, where 16 megaliths in a convoluting arrangement were located.
“Welcome to Monument Maze.” A mauve-cloaked mouse greeted in a slightly tinkly voice. “These 16 megaliths form a monument holding a mystery unsolved.” She was holding a pair of what seemed to be small metal rods bent at a right angle.

Angie started breaking a wall. After breaking one and getting the young pets to settle down, the cloaked mouse came for a closer look and became shocked at what she saw.
“Wait a minute! Those are students! They’re wearing IDs!” A closer look at the newly-released pets revealed that the mouse was right.
“I doubt that we can take them to their homes yet…” Angie worried.
“You haven’t found the ruler yet. She can help you. For now, I’ll have to keep them here.”
After the sun set and the night came, the students, Angie, and the cloaked mouse were gathered at the center of the circle formed by the megaliths.
“Please, do call me Aerin.” The mouse started. “Let’s make the best of a bad situation and teach you the things you should’ve been taught 5 years ago. So, this arrangement of megaliths is called the Stonehenge. It was built during the Neolithic and Bronze Age, around 3000 and 1250 BCE. There are many speculations as to what purpose this monument serves, including possibilities of it being a predictor of astronomical events, a temple, a gathering place for adjacent tribes, or a monument to the deceased. Now, I want you all to write your thoughts on the Stonehenge.”
“Someone or something took our bags away. We don’t have any paper, pencils, or any kind of school supplies.” A baby panda chimed in.
“Ugh, okay then. We’ll just continue this discussion tomorrow. If you don’t mind, I’m going to bed.” Aerin replied before walking off.
10 days had elapsed, and the way was now cleared for Angie to head to Porcelain Palace.
Porcelain Palace was a temple with an assortment of porcelain jars outside it. An elderly panda was painting a floral design on a porcelain vase.

“Ni hao. I’m Lanying and welcome to Porcelain Palace. Here, I teach young pets the procedures in making porcelain wares. Are you here to make a reservation for a workshop, or are you going to attend one?”
“Neither, actually. I’m going to break the walls.”
“Break the walls? No pet has been able to do so! Are you lying to me?”
“No, not at all. I’ve traversed through many kingdoms, and the only way to do so is by breaking the walls.”
Lanying stared in shock as Angie started working on a wall. Soon after that, three walls had been broken and a crowd of tiny cats, dogs, pandas, and pigs were on the floor. Lanying and Angie settled all of them inside the temple and made a sleeping area for all of them. After all the pets had gone to bed, Lanying and Angie moved to another room and started discussing what to do with them.
“Well then,” Lanying said. “What will we do with all these pets? We don’t see anything on them that can tell us where they live!”
“You said you hosted porcelain workshops. Keep them busy with that while I break the walls.” Angie suggested.
“Considering that you rescued a lot of pets here, and that you might be rescuing more, I don’t know if I have enough supplies for all of them.”
“Look, the porcelain workshops were probably what they came for in the first place 5 years ago, so maybe you should at least do it as much as you can. This is a learning opportunity for those pets, you see.”
“Alright then. Now that this is settled, let’s both go to bed.” Lanying agreed.
After another day of breaking walls, Lanying reported that the pets were being rowdy. After a while, one of the pet’s chaperones had been rescued. That chaperone was then asked to help her with the students.
13 days later, the dirt path ended at a stone bridge that would lead her to Brilliant Rejuvenation.
“Welcome to the Renaissance, a period of rebirth for the civilization! I’m Harriet, your guide to Brilliant Rejuvenation!” A civet exclaimed. “Would you like to book a hotel room?”

“Actually, yes!” Angie replied.
“Now, which hotel still has room? Ah! Alright, Angie, your hotel’s the grey cobblestone building over there.”
Upon entering the hotel, she was immediately greeted by a lemur on the front desk.
“Do you wish to check in?”
“Yes.” Angie replied. “How much is it per night?”
“150 pawns per night.” was the response. “Would you like to pay now or pay later?”
“Pay later, please.”
“Here’s your key. Room 202, 2 floors up.”
The room was just like a Renaissance bedroom, with… However, the bathroom was modern. Angie decided that she had to break all the walls as fast as possible, as she didn’t want to pay 150 pawns every night for 15 nights.
The pets in the walls were slightly different. Usually, it was mostly students, but here, it was mostly field trip chaperones who were rescued and taken back to their hotels. 7 days later, Angie paid her bill to the lemur and went on to Vaunted Villa.
A sheep with an impressive head of wool and a blue gown sat on a sofa outside a palace.
“Ahahahaha! Let them eat cake!” The sheep suddenly shouted.

Angie was confused by the sudden remark, and it definitely showed in her face.
“Oh, do you want me to put down the act for now? Alright then. I’m Princess Maria IX, ruler of Memory Lane. Please state your name and business.”
“Your Majesty, I am Angie of the Animal Kingdom, and I have come to break the walls littered all around the Pet World.”
“Ah, those walls have been a problem for so long! I’ve been stuck to this sofa, for the walls block my way out of it! I also haven’t been sheared in years, so I’m absolutely sweltering in here! Every so often, I get sheared, and an actor substitutes for me to tell the young pets about Maria Lamtoinette until my wool grows back. Sometimes, my mother is the one teaching the young ones, but she disappeared 5 years ago.”
“Don’t worry, your mother should still be in the Pet World. Let’s see if I can break enough walls to get inside, then look for a servant to shear you.”
“Ah, thank you very much! I shall reward you greatly for this!”
10 walls later, Angie was finally able to get inside the palace and call a meerkat to help Princess Maria IX out of her sofa, take her back to her room, and shear her. After the shearing, Princess Maria IX came out wearing a pearl necklace.
“The real Maria Lamtoinette was more known for diamond necklaces, but the real Crystal of Unity is a pearl, right here on my necklace. It has the power to turn back time, but it is extremely hard to use, and it can only turn back to 5 minutes before the present moment. The bombing of the Pet Unity Court took place in a strategic process that took around 15 minutes, so the Crystal would have never worked. This power is usually used on a recently deceased one to get final guidance from him/her, or to undo physical damage to structures.”
“Okay, that is a great power, but a dangerous one as well.”
“Yes, indeed. However, it has powers of its own to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.”
After 2 more days, Angie heard the unmistakable sound of a steam engine as she walked off towards Pet-dustrial.
