At Bedrock Base, Angie met a beaver named Haravan.

“Welcome to the Bedrock Base reservation. I am Haravan, the chieftain of this beaver tribe. Are you moving in?”
“No, but I’m here to take down the walls.”
The other beavers of the tribe started mumbling among themselves, asking “what are walls?”
“SILENCE!” Haravan shouted and struck his club on the ground. “This cat is right. These walls have bothered our tribe for 5 years, and no one has ever found a way to stop it. Now that this cat is here, we might just have a chance. We have burned many pinkTreeflower petals for the Great Spirit many times, but we have never gotten an answer on how to take down these walls!”
“Burn Treeflower petals? What do you mean?” Angie asked.
“When we need the answer to a question, we burn some Treeflower petals on a reserved table. Treeflowers are those pink trees over there that are actually giant flowers.” He pointed to a large table made of rocks, then pointed to the pink foliage growing behind them. While those are burning, we ask a question to the Great Spirit. When the fire dies down, the patterns of the ash tell us the Great Spirit’s answers. I suggest you place your things in my cave. I’ll let you stay there.”

During Angie’s stay, she noticed that the beavers harvested drifting aquatic plants from the dams they built and ate it. She also noticed that Treeflower petals could be mashed into juice. Aside from the big table for burning Treeflower leaves, there were also three smaller tables where the other beavers could prepare her food. The tribe was fascinating, but after 13 days, she had to go.

“Thank you for clearing our reservation of walls.” Haravan said. “Have this flask of Treeflower juice. As Treeflowers can grow nowhere else, pets affiliated with magic consider it valuable. If you give it to a pet with magical skill, they might do you a huge favor.” Angie gave her thanks to him and moved on.
As Angie walked up the stairs at the end of the reservation, she heard a loud ticking sound. She was now standing on a gigantic clock. A bat swooped in.
“Welcome to Chrono Avenue! I’m Tempestus, and this place tells you the time almost anywhere in the Pet World. This clock you’re standing on is the current time!”
Looking down, Angie could see that it was almost 5:00 pm. She peered out of the clock and saw a complex arrangement of gears turning and turning.
Tempestus led her to a shed behind Chrono Avenue where she could drop off her things.
One night, Angie thought that she heard squawks. She came out of the shed without Tempestus knowing, climbed onto the big clock, and listened. The squawks seemed to come from below the gears. She decided to tell Tempestus tomorrow.
After narrating to him what she heard last night, Tempestus decided to wait until midnight. On midnight, the two went out and climbed onto the big clock.
“Alright.” Tempestus whispered. “This rope is attached to a crank, and now, I’m clamping this crank to the edge of the clock. Since I know the gears better than you do, I’m going to turn off all the clocks, take apart some of the gears, attach this rope to my waist, and go down there. If I find something that I’m going to attach to the rope, I’ll give the rope two strong tugs and fly back up soon after that. If I want you to crank the other way to bring me up, I’ll give the rope three strong tugs.”
After Tempestus had turned off all the clocks and disassembled some of the gears, he attached the rope to his waist and started going down. Angie cranked the rope for what seemed like forever, until she felt two strong tugs and stopped cranking. She saw him flying back up.
“Hey, I found a cage. With someone in it. I’ll help you crank the rope to bring it up.”
After some grueling hours of cranking, Angie could see the cage. Tempestus detached it from its rope and brought it right outside his shed, with Angie following behind. When the cage was brought to the ground, she saw that there was a heron trapped inside. She took out a skeleton key and opened the cage.
“Oh… my…” The heron gasped. “I don’t know how long it’s been, but the last thing I know is that I was at the Pet Unity Court and a… I don’t know, but was it a shootout that happened?”
“We don’t care about that.” Angie replied. “What we do know is that you’re out. We need to get you back to your kingdom soon, however. Where do you live?”
“I’m Emperor Tatsuya of the Valley of Wonder. Now how do I get out of here?”
“We’re pretty close to the ruler’s palace. If we get to him, we can ask the ruler to get you back to the Valley of Wonder.” Tempestus suggested.
“Emperor Tatsuya, I’ll accompany you there.” Angie chimed in.
“Thank you.” Emperor Tatsuya replied.
8 days later, Angie and Emperor Tatsuya had reached the palace, which was a tower with twisting and turning staircases.
“Welcome, vissssitorssss.” A snake slithered in. “I am Prince Yanthussss. Pleasssse do not roam thissss palace without me, assss you can get lost in the sssstaircassssessss. Why, Emperor Tatssssuya issss here! How nice to ssssee you!”
“Your Majesty, I have a note from my parents. I need you to let me continue my journey.” Angie said.
“Hmm.” Prince Yanthus thought, while reading the note. “I have pity for you. My parentssss, Valencia and Callum, have been gone for a long time for me asss well, and ssssince you’ve obvioussssly been trying for a long time to find them, I sssshall allow you to go, that issss, if you are able to break the wallssss.”
“Thank you, your Majesty.”
18 days later, the palace’s stairs were still twisting, but the walls were gone.
“Well, Emperor Tatssssuya, I can call up a carpet to take you back to the Valley of Wonder. Asss for you though, Angie, you’ll have to go with me.”
15 minutes later, Emperor Tatsuya was told to stay and wait for his carpet, while Prince Yanthus took Angie to a high tower.
“If it interesssstssss you to know, my Crysssstal of Unity is the alexandrite, located on my bow tie. It issss quite a gem of illussssion, asss you think it issss one color, but it issss actually another. An illussssion, just like the sssstaircassssessss of thissss palace. Of coursssse, thissss gem hassss the power of illussssion, very usssseful indeed.”
The tower had a black-and-white checkered floor and a phone attached to one of its corners. Prince Yanthus called someone on the telephone and told Angie to wait. He then started rubbing his Crystal of Unity vigorously. After a few minutes, a blue vortex-like portal appeared on the floor.
“I contacted the ruler of Wacky Wonderland to activate hissss Crysssstal of Unity to open up thissss portal, which will take you sssstraight to his domain. Go on, jump in.” Prince Yanthus directed.
Angie held on tight into her suitcase, and took a leap of faith into the portal.
