The fall through the portal had ended as soon as it had started. She was now sprawled on the white tiled floor of the Posh Palace. A fancy-dressed ferret holding a cane examined her.

“Ah, so this is the guest Prince Yanthus was talking about. Well, I’m Duke Carl, successor of Prince Louis. I’ve heard from my servant that he and his parents have been through an unfortunate event that has caused their disappearance.”
“Duke Carl,” said Angie, standing up. “My parents left me this note stating that they had been pet-napped, and I know now that the perpetrators were the ones who made these walls. I have been breaking walls in my journey to find them.”
“Hmm, you seem like the honest kind.” Duke Carl mused. “Well then, I give you my permission.
“Thank you, Your Majesty.” Angie bowed to Duke Carl.
“Now I know why you came. When Prince Yanthus called, and asked me to activate the mirror with my Crystal of Unity, he never gave me a reason.”
“What mirror? What’s your Crystal of Unity?”

“My Crystal of Unity is the citrine on my collar. The giant mirror on the floor serves as a portal, and if My Crystal of Unity and another kingdom’s Crystal of Unity are activated, one can travel through the portal from one kingdom to another. This gemstone also gives its wielder the ability to create a bridge of light leading from anywhere to here, but one should only use its power in dire need. Prince Louis was sent to the Pet Unity Conference with his parents as part of his training. He was successfully able to activate the Crystal’s power, but he and his parents weren’t able to cross its bridge fast enough, and they ended up getting trapped. The upside of that, however, is that the bridge had fully formed, and the Crystal was already safe and sound here when it happened.”
In 15 days, Angie had broken all 15 walls in Posh Palace. Duke Carl gave her a treasure chest filled with silver pawns and a firework rocket crammed in the center.
Angie moved on to Quantum Lane, an extremely futuristic city. It had sleek gray buildings with purple streaks, buildings that appeared to be in bubbles, skyscrapers built upon water, and a tunnel filled with trees. She soon realized that the walls to break were in the tunnel, so she went in. Inside, she saw a door leading to the rest of the city, but it was blocked by three walls, all of which she broke before nightfall.

Upon approaching the door, she opened it, crossed a tunnel, and ended up inside a building with many customers talking to each other and hurriedly walking around. A lizard with a shiny silver jacket and a helmet came up to her in a hoverboard.
“Good evening, and welcome to Space Ace Hotel. My name is Lex, and it’s been a long time since we’ve had anyone new coming in here. I’m afraid that our guests here are panicking because they have been trapped in this hotel, which by the way, looks like an oversized white- and-orange rocket from the outside, for so long. However, since you were able to open that door, perhaps we should tell them that they can start packing up and going.” The lizard said in a slightly metallic voice.
“Well, I was able to open that door because I broke the walls blocking access to it.” Angie replied.
“Hmm, alright then. I assume you are here to break the walls, correct?”
“Yes, but it takes a while.” Angie responded.
“Let’s make a deal. I assume you need more than one day to do what you say you’ll do, so I’ll make your first four days free. However, each additional night after that will be 250 silver pawns each.”
Alright. Angie thought to herself. I’ve got to make this quick, or else I’ll have no money left.
The room itself was amazingly designed, with a moon-shaped night light, sleek silver tables, a bed floating right above the ground, windows that were really TV screens projecting images of space that could be controlled by the user, and pillows with galaxy motifs.
The next day, Angie rented out a hoverboard so that she could reach the higher parts of walls. 5 days after encountering Quantum Lane, she paid her dues and left.
Next up on Angie’s journey was Boogie Boulevard. There, she met a lemur who was dressed like one of those old-timey rock-and-roll stars, except with a different hairstyle.
“Welcome to Boogie Boulevard, the most epic place to have yourself a disco party! I’m Alvin, and I’m afraid I’m just pretending, ‘cuz what’s a dance party without customers? Without all the lively and unique patrons, this place has lost its boogie and groovy.”

“Well, I could assume that you’ll get some patrons after helping me break some walls, because I know from experience that there are some in there. Maybe you’ll even find some pets who you’ve met a long time ago, maybe 5 years or so? I’m Angie, and I’m willing to help.”
“Well, you say you could get my patrons back? Oh yeah, groovy! Why don’t you unload these suitcases of yours in the ol’ jalopy?” He pointed to a teal car at the back of the disco club. Angie started unloading her suitcases and preparing a sleeping quarter in the car.

At first, breaking walls seemed like a bore to Alvin. The first few times, Alvin would pick up a record and ask Angie for permission to play it, which she denied. However, at one point, she gave in to his begging to play the record. He put it in the player, and when the music played, he started dancing and breaking a wall at the same time. There, Angie realized that this was how he got his rhythm, so she let him play any record he wanted from that time on. Now, breaking walls was like song and dance.
14 days later, there were approximately 50 more patrons at the disco booth. Alvin thanked Angie and gave her a mini-radio with a small disco ball attached to a rod on top of it.
As Angie continued, she heard a certain melancholic tune. She saw a brown bear playing a blue cello and reading from a book of sheet music.
“Oh, a new guest has arrived. I’m afraid there is no show to enjoy, because what is an orchestra without all the players? The walls came down a long time ago, and I was the only one who managed not to get trampled by one. I can sense that my fellow players of the orchestra are in there as well.” The bear started crying.

“Don’t you worry. I can fix all of this. I can break all the walls for you, and restore the harmony.”
“Thank you, little cat. This shall be something I shall never forget. Please, do call me Benson.” He wiped some of his tears off.
In the course of 11 days, an entire orchestra, including its conductor, had been restored. Benson was no longer the sad fellow he used to be, but he was now a more jubilant bear.
“Thank you!” All the orchestra players shouted in glee, hugging Angie at the same time. We must simply repay you! Here, take this bag of silver pawns!”
“Alright.” Benson said. “Continue your journey, but beware of the ice cream.”
Angie didn’t understand what that warning meant, but after a few steps, it became clear to her that the warning was literal and that she had underestimated the wackiness of Wacky Wonderland.
Beneath her feet was a pink lake. One taste revealed to her that it was melted bubblegum-flavored ice cream. She looked around her and saw giant cookies, waffles, ice cream cones, dollops of icing, and purple grass. A narwhal popped out of the ice cream lake.

“Why, hello there! I’m Vanillus, and I can see that you’re here to break the walls!”
“What the… You’re the first pet to correctly guess what I’m doing here! How did you…?” Vanillus cut Angie off mid-sentence.
“Why, of course the only way any pet can get anywhere these days is to break walls! Don’t you know it’s called common sense?”
“Yes, indeed. I am on a journey, and I need to break these walls. But, how do you explain this place you live in?”
“Well, you may or may not know this, but all magic in the Pet World comes from Mythical Meadow. Pets who go from there to other kingdoms take this magic with them and spread it around, and I was one of those pets. I wanted to explore the other kingdoms, so I moved here. This used to be an ordinary lake being filled with water from Quantum Lane, but my magic turned it into this sugar land you see! When the water touches my body, it instantly transforms into one of the things you see here. Ice cream, cookies, waffles, whipped cream, you name it! Since the time I discovered this place, I have decided to call it Ice Cream Streams.”
“That’s very fascinating and all, but could you please push that cookie and spoon toward me? I can’t swim, but I need to take these walls down.”

“Why, sure!” Vanillus pushed a sandwich cookie and a giant spoon towards Angie. “Also, feel free to eat anything here!”
15 days later, the walls in Ice Cream Streams had been cleared out, and the way was cleared for Angie. However, before leaving, the former received a tub of vanilla-blue raspberry ice cream from Vanillus in a magic tub that would keep the ice cream from melting.
The next area was Burnside Avenue, a skating park sprayed all over with graffiti. A corgi dropped into the bowl, zipped around the walls, went upwards, and landed beyond the rail right next to her.

“Hey! Looks like you ain’t a boarder like me, am I right?”
“Well, yes, I’m not a skateboarder.” Angie said.
“Well, I’m Corgino, and what are you here for, if you’re not a boarder?”
“Well, I’m here to break the walls. Can you see them? I have to reach both high and low parts of the walls, you see.”
“Those walls over there? You’re gonna need a boarder for the high parts.”
“I don’t have that kind of time. Maybe you could do it for me instead?”
And so it began. Corgino would do stunts that made him go high enough, then throw his skateboard at a wall to break part of it. His aim was shaky at first, but it improved over time and he and Angie got through the skate park in 30 days.
“Thank you, non-boarder, for truly testing my skills.”
“Thank you, Corgino, for helping me in my journey.” Angie said before walking off to the next area.
Angie saw a mouse at a lab with a plethora of glowing chemicals. The scientist must have saw her, for he started carrying his chemicals into a secret room at the back of his lab.

“Oh, a visitor? Sorry, gotta take these vials, Erlenmeyers, and test tubes far away from you! Don’t want the acid to dissolve you!”
After around 5 minutes, the mouse turned off the lights on the table he used to hold the beakers of acid and started talking to her.
“Well, greetings. I’m Hanzsel, and I noticed these walls all around my lab. For some reason, I couldn’t extract some of the wall’s material for testing, so I just made around 25 acid blends with the intent of dissolving the walls with them. None of them have ever worked, though I’ve observed that they are very strong, and also that the walls are stronger. Do you have any ideas how to break the walls?”
Angie was surprised that he, unlike most of the other pets, actually tried to do something about the walls. She was also surprised that he resorted to such a complicated approach, when in reality, the way to break the walls was simpler than that.”
“You don’t need those acids at all, Hanzsel. You can see groups of blocks the same color there, right?”
“Yes.”
“Well, all you have to do is tap one of those groups and BAM! It’s gone!” Angie tapped a cluster of purple blocks to demonstrate. “Well, then, Hanzsel. What are you waiting for? Let’s go!”
As always, breaking the walls were hard, but Angie soon discovered that Hanzsel remembered every little move that she made, every booster she used, and the starting structure each wall used. Thus, she was able to recognize her mistakes and correct them immediately. Eventually, they were able to clear out the lab in 10 days.
“If I had realized that there was a simpler way to destroy the walls, I would’ve got myself out of here, not to lie!” Hanzsel chuckled.
Angie exited the lab and saw a room cluttered with comic pages on the floor. A squirrel suddenly jumped off some fake buildings and fell.

“Ugh, why do I always forget that the cape’s label tells me that I can’t fly with it?”
“Little squirrel, do you need my help?” Angie asked.
“Nope! Not at all!” The squirrel quickly rose up. “I’m Ethan, and this was supposed to be a comic book store ready for a convention. However, some walls came crashing down and everyone was trapped, except for me.”
“Well, now’s your chance to be a hero. You can start by helping me break all these walls.”
“Wait, you know how to break those walls?”
“Yes, indeed.”
“Awesome! Let’s go and save Guardian Boulevard!”
Every night, after a long day of breaking walls, Angie and Ethan would chat. Ethan asked about her story, which she gladly told while he took notes. He would sleep later than she did, and she didn’t know why, until it was time for her to leave.”
“Wait!” Ethan called out. “Here. This will explain why I always slept so late.” He gave Angie a comic book. When she flipped through the pages, she realized that it was a comic about her.
“Guardian Boulevard is devoted to those who want to make and publish their own comics. New submissions are submitted before the convention starts. The convention showcases new series and attracts more pets to the event. Is it OK to submit this comic for the next convention? May I get your postal address as well, so I can continue your story?”
“Yes! Feel free to submit it. Also, since I’m constantly traveling, I can’t give you a postal address. However, if I do manage to clear all the walls in the Pet World, I’ll visit you on my way home, and then we can exchange postal addresses.”
Ethan gasped. “Thank you so much, Angie!”
